The following went out to all my mailing list subscribers.
Hey everyone.
Welcome to what looks like spring, at least here in beautiful northern Michigan. It’s been a while since my last writing, but a great deal has happened in the last few months.
When i last spoke to you, I mentioned that my metal project Crater Maker was in the works, and I was also working on the launch of a Kickstarter Campaign to fund my long over due solo album entitled “Headspace.” Well, both are now officially live.
The Crater Maker EP launched 2 weeks ago and features yours truly on vocals, keyboardist Damon Fibraio, and multi-instrumentalist Ian Baird. The EP features 7 hard hitting original tunes, and 6 remixes, 5 of which were chosen by us from submissions from folks all over the world. Head on over to http://www.cratermakerband to learn more or pick up the EP in the following digital retailers. We’re available on CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, and for those who prefer lossless recordings, we’re also available on Bandcamp. Also, be sure to follow us on Twitter, or like our page on Facebook. This is the metal record I’ve always wanted to make since middle school, and it was a pleasure recording these tunes.
Now onto Kickstarter. As of about 10 minutes ago, I launched my campaign to fund the making of my next album entitled Headspace. This will feature 11 new tunes that outlines the story of my journey over the past couple of years. I feel that it illustrates a definite forward progression with my songwriting and vocal ability. The funding will go towards recording, mixing, mastering, artwork, the filming of a documentary, and a brand new website roll out. I have made available some exciting prizes for different levels of giving, and I invite you to check those out and consider helping me reach my goal. If interested, Click Here to watch my brief video. If you haven’t heard my debut album “It’s about time,” there is a free download available right from the kickstarter page. I wanted to put my money where my mouth is and make my first album free to those who are considering funding this new release. Thanks in advance to all who are interested in helping out.
Here’s what’s coming up in the near future. Ian and I have decided to remix The Freefall Effect, a politically charged hard rock project that we released 5 years ago. We felt it was time to dust it off, pick out the 5 best songs and retrack some of the instruments and vocals and give it a sound that was on par with our current production abilities. That album will be available in the next few weeks. When I send out an update to Kickstarter around that time, you’ll find links on where to preview and purchase that EP as well.
Thanks so much guys for lending me your in-box today. I really appreciate it. I invite you to follow me on twitter by following @reevesman or @kevinreevesmusic. The former is my personal account, which features all my music related updates plus my unfiltered mouth, and the latter features just my music updates and links and information for musicians and music lovers alike. I hope you are enjoying this nice weather we are beginning to experience, and I hope you guys have a fantastic rest of the week.
God Bless
Kevin Reeves
